1000th Meal Delivered to the Local Community

Posted on

Client-Pharma has been funding meals to deliver within their local community since mid-March and this weekend, the team delivered their 1000th meal.

Client-Pharma wanted to do everything they could to help their community during this these difficult times. The company joined The Three Horseshoes restaurant in Barton-under-Needwood, to deliver a free hot meal service to local residents that are vulnerable and continue to remain in self-isolation.

Gary Campbell, CEO and military veteran, explained why Client-Pharma fund and help to deliver these freshly cooked meals; “We pledged our support to help people who have found themselves vulnerable and often alone. This Easter weekend was like no other for many reasons, and since we started this process we have delivered over 1,000 meals to the local community. This is a sad milestone but one that has been unavoidable. We are getting new requests every day and have increased our capacity to deliver to more homes as people remain in isolation. As it was Easter this weekend, we also wanted to show people that we stand together, so as part of the delivery we also dropped off an Easter egg to every person that we deliver to. The feedback has been affectionate and that really means a lot to us.

“We are lucky that we are still able to do this, we remain in very good health and have the capability of a five-person strong team that is totally committed to serving our community. Help brings hope, and hope brings communities closer together. We are looking forward to looking back on these times with admiration for everyone across the globe who is making a real difference to those less fortunate. We are proud to be playing our part and, as we stated in the beginning, we will be there for as long as we are needed.”

The outpouring of thanks that we have received from the community with letters and cards of thanks, and on the Three Horseshoes Facebook page, really urges the team to do as much as they can for as long as they are needed. Here are some of the comments;

“Fantastic work, you’re all doing an amazing thing for the village community.”

“Thank you, Three Horseshoes, for helping my Nan during this time.”

“So proud to live in a wonderful village with so much great community spirit.”

“Well done all. Great team effort and community support.”

“Amazing community partner, well done to you all.”

“You have done yourselves proud for the local community.”

Three-weeks into the current lockdown in the UK there is no end in sight yet, and this is a concerning time for so many people. One thing that Client-Pharma and the Three Horseshoes team urge people to do is to stay strong and remain positive – we will meet again, and we will be together again. Until then, stay home and stay safe and protect the NHS.

We would also like to heap much praise on the team working tirelessly behind the scenes:

  • The talented chef Dan Evans, creating the most incredible meals using local produce where possible.
  • Holly Whitford, who is also delivering prescriptions and other essentials during the day and always arrives with a big smile.
  • Simon Webster who has the unenviable task of accounting for all the donations and costs with complete accuracy, driving and delivering.
  • Stewart Hughes and Matt Shelley for the donations of the much sought after critical health and safety equipment.
  • David Oates, Director at Celebration who is donating all the food delivery boxes.
  • And special thanks to all the people that have donated so far.
